A financial and Digital client of mine in Amsterdam is looking for a new Devops Engineer to help bring their projects up to speed and guide Junior staff in the next phase of their project:

By developing new API's and services to move large amounts of important Data into either AWS or Azure cloud services.

You will be managing/maintaining multiple AWS or Azure, supported by our IT Operations team. Together with your team you will analyze and adequately follow up on incidents and alerts. You analyze problems and help determine a solution (or path). Finding and implementing the best solutions (sometimes in consultation with suppliers) will be part of your responsibilities. Of course, you will be working on optimizing our Continuous Delivery. You have the ability to recognize and implement automation where it's beneficial.

Key skills

  • You have several years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with good knowledge of Amazon Web Services OR Azure with an interest in software development (Python, C#, PowerShell)

  • You have experience in migrating (Windows) backend / middleware systems from on-premises to the cloud (AWS)

Bonus skills:

  • Implement automation and DevOps best practices for CI/CD, IaC, Containerization. Preferably, Azure DevOps, Terraform and ECS, respectively

  • Setting up and maintaining a wide spectrum of IaaS and PaaS services in AWS

  • Networking: VPC, Cloudfront, Route 53, ELB

  • Compute: EC2, ECS, Lambda

  • Database/Storage/Cache: RDS, S3, ElastiCache

  • Others: System Manager, KMS, CloudWatch

  • Writing infrastructure as a code with Terraform

  • Shell scripting whenever needed
