Foxtek have an extremely exciting position available. We have a client who is making a big impact in the professional gaming scene.  They've just received backing and are looking to ramp up their service.

The role is based in Rotterdam and the client is looking for someone to start between Mid May & early June.

There are two key projects:

  1. A dashboard needs to be developed which will be used by up to 2 million gamer's in real-time.
  2. A back-end game server needs to be created including API's.

The client is looking for a freelancer due to the amount of project work that needs to be completed.

They work on a sprint basis.  This means that the work schedule will be 64 hours across 2 weeks (must be 5 days a week in Rotterdam) and then 1 week off before the next sprint begins (Obviously client is happy for the freelancer to work on other projects/personal projects in the week off).  This is a role for someone who is happy working in a fast moving environment.

The duration of the role should initially be around 6 months with further extensions likely.

Essential Experience

  • JavaScript
  • Git
  • Node.JS

Beneficial Experience

  • Typescript
  • Go
  • React

Ideally they want someone who is 70% back end focussed, however, if you are more front end they can shift the work so that someone else picks up the back end.  Therefore, if you have React but no Node, please still apply :)

This is a great opportunity to be part of something from the beginning and work directly with the founders to create a gaming interface that will be seen by millions of people worldwide.

The rate is 50-55 EUR p/h which I appreciate may be under your rate.  However, as it's working in a cool sector I thought I'd make you aware.

Please email your cv to tom.page@foxtekrs.com for a confidential discussion.
If you're not interested in this role but know someone who is, please feel free to forward this email to them.
